SAG-AFTRA Showcase & Text Bubbles

Yup, it's been a minute!

What have I been up to? Lots, but mostly finishing up Utopia! A 15mins surreal drama about a young woman conflicted about her identity who wakes up from a coma in Uganda. Fun, I know! It's been an incredible journey so far and I can't wait to share the finished short with you. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

In the meanwhile, a bit of good news :)

A Day in the Life of Who is going to the Sag-Aftra Showcase in New York on March 28th!! And, yes, I'm flying in for the event. It'll be a quick visit, but I'm excited to join my fellow filmmakers on the Q & A panel for the five films selected for this showcase, to talk film-making and answer a few questions! If you're in town and can join us, please do!

And, now... Text Bubbles.

It's a really cool way to add a little something to your film, especially given the fact that most our communication today is done virtually.

Here's a little how to below:

Text bubbles, or texts on screen can be used for more than text message type communications on film obviously, so whenever you can (and ofcourse, only if necessary) find ways to use it creatively...

I'm a huge fan of transitions, by the way, so watch that video above for some cool ones. And oh, yes I'm a huge fan too.

Cheers,

Aimi :D
