It had been and continues to be a journey!
One that began over three years ago with a question... What if we all just showed empathy rahter than judgement when it came to dealing with the human condition, suffering, loss, pain. As people, we have a tendency to categorixe pain and suffering. If you are broken up with afer a month, well, it wasn't like you're getting a divorce after twenty years of marriage. You lost your dog, well, it's not like you lost a loved one. You lost your job, well, it's not like you lost your house! And so on.
Grappling with this concept, lead to writing a script, then the lyrics, and the music by Manuel Calzada followed and as they say, the rest is history.

As the Cookie Crumbles follows a young hopeful, Jaylin, who is suddenly dumped after he proposes to his on again off again girlfriend, Ariel, with a fledgling screenwriter by day rideshare driver by night, Gigi, bearing witness to the humiliation. So, he lands himself in a debate with a widow, Shana, over whose loss is more painful. Through the darkness of their shared grief, however, the heartbroken man and the grief-stricken widow find grace and the metaphorical light at the end of the tunnel.

October was a fun month of tours on the festival circuit with Color of Autumn, As the Cookie Crumbles, and Greek Philosophia and Chickens.
Color of Autumn made it's world premiere in October at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival and it was a blast! Check out a couple interview below, but definitely visit the film's page to learn more and stay up to date on its journey.
